Agnes Margaret Peel's Obituary
Agnes Margaret Peel, age 89 of Centerville, went home to be with the Lord on April 16, 2008 at the Golden Age Care Center.
Margaret was born May 3, 1918, the daughter of Noah and Emma Jane (Vestal) Robbins in Cincinnati, Iowa. She grew up in Cincinnati and attended the Cincinnati Schools. Margaret married Earl Raymond Peel on August 8, 1936 in Centerville, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2005. Margaret worked at several businesses in the Centerville area, including her final employment at Johnson's Barber & Beauty Supply. She was an outstanding cook, especially her homemade pies. Margaret was a devout Christian and was extremely dedicated to her Protestant faith, accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1937. She dedicated her life to her family; her grandchildren were like her own children. Margaret was an outstanding homemaker, she always kept a perfect home, and loved time spent with her family and family gatherings.
Margaret is survived by her four children, Earlene (Bill Sr.) McElroy of Centerville, Iowa, Sadie (Verne) Ruth of Centerville, Iowa, Karen (Alan) Jones of Goodyear, Arizona, and George Earl (Linda) Peel of Greentop, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Cridlebaugh and Angie Rook; a brother Junior Robbins; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and four great, great grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Matt, Bill, John, Paul, Clovie, and Posey Robbins; a sister, Reva Ulrick; and one son-in-law, Nick Radavich.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM, Sunday, April 20. 2008 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastors Kristopher Wattelet and Junior Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home from 9AM-8 PM, with the family present from 6-8 PM that evening. Memorials have been established to either Hospice of Central Iowa or the Golden Age Care Center and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
