A. Joann Harwood's Obituary
Joann Harwood, age 83 of Unionville, Missouri, went to be with our Lord Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville, Missouri.
She was born on May 7, 1930 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Margaret (Latta) Beals. Following high school graduation, Joann married Richard Harwood on August 28, 1949. After Richard's death in 1978, Joann became employed with Iowa State Bank in Iowa City, Iowa. She worked at the bank for fifteen years until her retirement.
Following a short hospitalization in 2010, Joann moved to Unionville, Missouri to be closer to family. She joined her family in attending Midway Baptist Church. Philippians 4:7 was one of her favorite Bible verses: ""And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."" KJV
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Dr. Thom) Williams of Unionville, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Christie Johnson, Russ Koehler, Windy Clark, Rick Porter, Tara Hoftiezer, Ryan Williams, and Kaitlyn Williams; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Joann was preceded in death by her Parents; her husband Richard Harwood; and her daughter Marcia Porter.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Midway Baptist Church in Unionville, Missouri with Pastor Rob Fleshman officiating. Burial will follow in the Lupton Cemetery north of Unionville. A visitation will be held on Monday at the Midway Baptist Church, with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM. A memorial has been established to the Midway Baptist Church and may be given to either the Church or to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544. Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com. Services have been entrusted to the care of Lange Funeral Home and Crematory.
