Belated comment. I was a student of Mrs Houser back at Howar Junior High in 1973-4 and 1974-5 for seventh and eighth grade English. A long time ago, and yet I have vivid recollections of her as a superb teacher and warm but stern person who invited us to give her our best. I attribute some of my future direction in life (now an English prof and university president in Canada) to her encouragement and wonderful presence as a teacher in my life. The family must be greatly proud of her, and I'm thrilled to see that she was able to have such a long and happy retirement. So richly deserved. Alan Shepard, University of Western Ontario

Aunt Gladys was always so loving and caring and wore the honor of being our family's matriarch with a grace, enthusiasm and love, second to none! My deepest condolences to her many family and friends that will deeply miss her.
Aunt Gladis was a wonderful kind hearted woman. She will be greatly missed. I know she is with her soul mate and is happy. But we will miss her very much.
